How we sell them

Dealer prices, three ways to buy

  • 1

    By the box

100 needles of one system, point and size. The best price per needle, and what a production shop should keep on the shelf.

  • 2

    10-packs

For shops that run several sizes or several machines. Mix systems and sizes in one order at dealer prices.

  • 3

    With a machine

Every machine we deliver leaves with a first box of Schmetz needles in the system, point and size its first job needs. No charge for picking them.

Prices depend on system and size. Call or send the form with the systems and quantities you run and you will have a price list the same day. Genuine Schmetz only: as an authorized dealer we buy from the maker, so there are no re-labelled or counterfeit needles on our shelf.

Schmetz has made sewing machine needles in Germany since 1851 and is the reference brand in the industrial trade: the eye is polished so thread does not fray, the scarf is cut to a consistent depth so the hook picks up the loop every time, and the sizes run true from box to box. Most skipped stitches and most thread breaks we see in the shop are a needle problem: wrong system, wrong point, wrong size or just worn out.

Points

R round point for woven and knit fabric, vinyl, coated fabric, canvas and webbing. LR (twist point right) gives the classic slanted leather stitch and is the default for upholstery leather and bags. LL (twist point left) gives a straighter looking seam; used on decorative leather topstitch. D and S (triangular and narrow wedge) for heavy saddlery and harness leather where a clean straight cut matters. SERV 7 and similar reinforced blades for dense materials where needle deflection is a problem.

Not sure? Tell us the material and the thread and we will send the right needle with the machine, or with your next order. See also parts and accessories.
