Strap cutting machines
Uniform straps from hides, rolls and sheets, with no hand cutting.
A strap cutter feeds a hide, a roll of vinyl or a sheet of material past a set of circular blades and produces straps of exactly the width you set, as many as you need. It replaces the strap cutter hand tool, the ruler and the rotary knife, and it never drifts. Belt makers, saddle shops, bag factories and upholstery shops that cut their own welt and binding all run one.
The LEATHERPRO Model 4 cuts straps from 1/16 up to 3 3/4 inches wide and up to 1/4 inch thick, with a built-in gear reduction motor and foot pedal control. The AK-20 takes material up to 14 inches wide and 3/8 inch thick and splits it into multiple straps at once for production work.
Choose this type when
- You cut belts, straps, laces, bridle leather or welt by hand and want every piece the same width.
- You slit rolls of vinyl, webbing or binding tape into narrower widths.
- You want to cut a full hide into straps in minutes rather than an afternoon.
Typically made on it
- Belts and belt blanks
- Bag and purse straps
- Bridle, rein and harness leather
- Binding and welt strips
- Webbing cut-downs
