About the 0617D-7
The 0617D-7 is a single needle walking foot flatbed with the three automatic functions that save the most time in production: back-tack at the start and end of the seam, foot lift from the pedal, and a thread trimmer under the plate. The 750W direct drive motor sits on the head, so there is no belt and the needle stops exactly where it is told.
The hook is a horizontal large rotary with an M bobbin, the stitch goes to 8mm and the foot lifts 16mm. It is a medium-heavy machine for upholstery vinyl, Sunbrella, canvas and leather to about 6 oz with thread from 69 to 138. It is not meant for 207 thread or saddle leather.
Operators who come off a manual machine notice two things: they stop reaching for the reverse lever, and they stop cutting threads with scissors. On a day of seat covers that is an hour saved.
