About the 0617DL-18-7

The 0617DL-18-7 is the long arm version of the 0617D-7. An 18 inch arm means a bimini, an enclosure panel with a window, a seat back or an awning section goes under the needle flat instead of being rolled, and the automatic back-tack, 16mm foot lift and thread trimmer mean the operator does not stop between seams.

The head has a horizontal large rotary hook with an M bobbin, an 8mm stitch and a 750W direct drive servo with needle positioning. Thread range is 46 to 138 through 135x17 needles. It is a medium-heavy machine for canvas, vinyl and upholstery fabric; for leather over 6 oz or 207 thread, the heavier long arms below are the right choice.

How does it compare with the 1508L-18?

The 1508L-18 is a heavier head with a vertical-axis large hook and 9mm stitch, manual, with an air foot lift. The 0617DL-18-7 is lighter and automated. For canvas and vinyl production the 0617DL; for leather and heavier thread the 1508L.
