About the 441-PRO
The 441-PRO is our version of the machine the saddlery and holster trade calls simply a 441. It is a cylinder arm, compound needle feed, walking foot lockstitch with a large shuttle hook, a 794 needle and 16.5 inches of working space. It sews a stack of leather three quarters of an inch thick with 277 or 346 thread, and it does it at 800 RPM or at one stitch a second, whichever the work wants.
The harness feet fitted as standard are narrow so the needle gets close to buckles, D-rings and hardware. The 3/8 inch stitch length gives the long, straight saddle stitch look on belts and holsters. The shuttle holds a large bobbin so a saddle skirt does not need a bobbin change halfway.
It is not a fast machine or a light one. For bags and wallets in 4 oz leather a 1341 is the better buy.
