About the 441-25

The 441-25 is the 441-PRO with 25 inches between the needle and the arm instead of 16.5. Everything else is the same: a cylinder bed, compound feed walking foot, large shuttle hook, 794 needle, 3/8 inch stitch and thread from 138 to 346. The speed is lower, 600 RPM, because the longer arm carries a longer needle bar drive.

The extra arm matters when the piece is big: a saddle skirt, a fender, a tarp corner with webbing, a large leather panel on a motorcycle seat, a harness assembly that has to turn under the needle without being folded. The bobbin winder sits on the table so you can wind while sewing.

Questions about the 441-25

When is the 25 inch arm worth it?

When the piece does not fit under a 16.5 inch arm without folding: saddle skirts, large panels, long assemblies with hardware at both ends. If everything you sew is under 16 inches, buy the 441-PRO and save the difference.

Is it slower?

600 RPM against 800. On this kind of work nobody notices.
