About the 1508L-18H

The 1508L-18H is the high-arm version of our most popular long arm. The head, hook, feed and stitch are the same as the 1508L-18; the arm is two inches taller, which is the difference between a rolled boat cover or a foam-backed seat panel sliding under the arm and jamming against it. The needle is the longer 190R system for the extra reach.

It is bought by marine canvas shops sewing enclosures with heavy vinyl windows, by upholsterers sewing foam-backed panels, and by anyone who has hit the arm with a bulky piece one time too many.

Is the stitch different?

No. Same hook, same 9mm stitch, same thread range. Only the arm height and the needle length change.

Who needs the extra height?

Shops that sew foam-backed panels, enclosures with glazing, and anything rolled. If your work is flat canvas and seat covers, the standard 1508L-18 is enough.
