About the 146RB
The 146RB is the standard heavy zig-zag. The walking foot and drop feed move sailcloth, neoprene, canvas and leather without creeping, the zig-zag goes to 9mm wide, the straight stitch to 5mm, and the horizontal-axis rotary hook takes a large bobbin. Reverse is built in. It runs 135x17 needles from 110 to 160 at up to 2,500 stitches per minute.
Sail lofts use it for seams and patches in cloth up to about 10 oz, boat canvas shops for zig-zag on windows and covers, wetsuit and dive shops for neoprene, and boot repairers for the elastic gores on western boots. With a gear and cam change it can sew a 3-step or 4-step zig-zag.
